Al, the Mysterious Albatross

For the past 16 years, a lone albatross has shown up to winter in the small harbor in Point Arena, California. The story is true and based on the actual accounts of local people that love “Al” and interact with him, sometimes on a daily basis. He is mysterious because he always comes alone and he comes back to the same place each year.

Patricia Neth lives on the Mendocino Coastline near the town of Point Arena. As a former elementary school teacher and animal lover, the arrival of Al the albatross each year has always been a special time for her and she wanted to share his story with children everywhere.
