Pretty Bad Stories

An Unfortunate Collection of Troublesome Tales by Paul Kennedy Mueller

These “troublesome tales” take place in territories where the familiar and the expected quickly evolve into quirky, humorous, and sometimes dark variations. From a John Doe who discovers a scrap of extraterrestrial clothing to a Godfrey Daniel doomed to inhabit an assortment of hells, the characters and landscapes of this “unfortunate collection” will challenge and charm the adventurous reader.

Paul Kennedy Mueller

Paul Kennedy Mueller works as a senior public information officer for the University of California at San Diego. A well-traveled Army brat – the second of nine children – and a Vietnam veteran, he worked as a grease-monkey, bartender, school-bus driver, journalist, technical editor, proposal coordinator, university lecturer, and director of corporate communications before his current position in academe. Author of “The Pandemonium Bar & Grill” and other short-story collections, he earned a Master of Fine Arts degree at Penn State University and has published poetry in regional and national journals. He and his wife, Clare Marie Kristofco, an associate chancellor and chief of staff, live in San Diego.
