Mr. Otagiri's Promise

by Deborah Roberts

Mr. Otagiri's Promise is a lyrical and poetic story of a father's quest to return to his family their lost laughter, forgotten happiness, slumbering smiles and drowsy dreams. Set in Japan at the end of the Second World War, this story illuminates the powerful transitions required when moving from colourless places of life to the brilliant spaces of re-awakened hope, dreams, desires and joy. It is a universal story told with beautiful, poignant imagery and hopeful, positive sentiment.

About the Author:

Deborah Roberts lives in London, Ontario. She is a mother, grandmother and intuitive mentor.

"I knew the day my grandson was born I would write him a book. Three years later this story began to take form. In a series of moments and signs, it shaped, coloured and defined itself. Finding Joy and Linda Im to paint the story to life was the ultimate fulfillment of a long held dream."
