Philosophical awakening is the after taste.

While a bowl of soup will help you not feeling hungry,
This book of fun can help you not being grumpy, I say.

This is a book for everyone young or old. The fun comes from the surprise that something that is on its way to the garbage can be turned into something to be put on a desk or coffee table for show. Besides the beauty of these craft objects, they are also animated to talk amongst themselves or with the reader. The fun does not stop here. The writings are in the form of poems. They are beautifully presented, and flowingly delivered so that you may want to read them again and again. As you read, you might find humor in the poems, or discover philosophical truths that echo your own experiences. The saying that “beauty is only skin deep” does not hold true for the objects in this book. Their beauty comes from within. In the same way a caterpillar undergoes a metamorphosis into a butterfly, new objects of art can be born of common household trash.

Naomi Woo

Naomi was born, raised, and educated in Hong Kong. In 1971, she immigrated to Canada and assimilated herself into western culture. Having worked as a forensic scientist for the province of British Columbia for 16 years, Naomi took early retirement after a serious car accident. Although the car accident closed the door on Naomi’s science career, it opened another in the arts. She discovered a love of arts and crafts, and poetry. After 2 years of creating art from plastic or foam products, she decided to put together a book showcasing her favorite pieces.
