A Christmas Tree

by Libby White Swad

Not being chosen for what you consider to be the most important event of your life can be painful. Hoping to have the outcome you want can be frightening as you watch things unfold that aren't promising to you.
But when you remember that all things happen for a reason, life can be a little less scary and a little more exciting. Sometimes, what actually happens turns out to be better for you and for others, than you had ever imagined.

Libby is a South Carolina girl who grew up loving the ocean and the beaches on the coast. She is a retired teacher, has served on SC State Board of Education, president of local humane society for ten years, and made two unsuccessful runs for the SC House of Representatives. She is married to a Family Practice physician. They have one beautiful daughter who lives in Costa Rica.
Because she was in the classroom for many years, she knows how children suffer when they are not chosen to be a part of a group or a team. It can be frightening and painful.
But things have a way of working out and being for the best althought we can't always see it in the moment. Sometimes, what happens is so much better than what we thought we wanted...not just for us, but for everyone and everything around us.
