Blackie loves going anywhere with his "Mama Lady" especially riding beside her in the truck anticipating where "mama" will go next! From treats at the bank, to watching Mama exit that big building carrying all those yummy smelling bags. Best of all, Blackie loves joining mama for a stroll around the Pet Store visiting other furry friends, and picking out a treat for himself and his cat brother "Cubbie." Blackie shows his caring and giving nature in all his adventures, which are just beginning!

About the Author

Teresa Ward makes her home in Fairbanks, Alaska. She lives with her husband Jeffrey with whom she raised three wonderful children, Bryce, Brannon and Juliana. Her inspiration for this children’s book comes from life with her beloved dog of 13 years, Blackie. She said she has often wondered what goes through the minds of our animal friends. This book brings to life a dog’s perspective of a day on the town with his mama. Teresa has loved animals of all kinds from a young age; she believes her father Gary instilled that love in her heart. She has a habit of talking to animals like they are little people, so writing a children’s book came naturally.

About the Illustrator

Juliana Ward currently lives in Fairbanks, Alaska. She is the youngest child of the author.
Juliana completed her education at the University of Idaho, earning a degree in Advertising with a minor in Fine Arts. She started drawing at the age of three, and never stopped. Juliana grew up with Blackie and Cubbie, who were the inspiration for “Blackie’s Day Out”. This has made it especially fun for Juliana to bring their personalities to life in this children’s book.
