Mark Olynyk has an Honour Graduation Diploma from Eastview Secondary School in Barrie, Ontario. After moving to Toronto, he worked as a parking attendant at the CN Tower. On cloudy days, he read classics in his booth. His favourite poets include Dante, Shakespeare, Goethe, Poe and T.S. Eliot.

The author says, “Writing is the great escape.” His poems have appeared in anthologies and literary journals such as: Whetstone, The Prairie Journal, The Canadian Writer’s Journal, The Penwood Review and Peace & Freedom. Two poetry chap-books: The Interior Sea: A Book of Poetic Philosophy and Hearsay and Heresy: Poetry Vol. II, were published by The Plowman.
