This Moment Is My Home
This Moment Is My Home is an ambitious spiritual/paranormal novel that peers into the mysterious frontiers of human consciousness through the eyes of Bob Dorrs, a meditator, closet poet and teacher of small children. Bob is stalked by a murderous, alcoholic ex-husband, but his real trouble is spiritual. Once adept at Vipassana meditation, he has almost lost hope of ever reclaiming the sublime discipline and grace he lost after his wife died. On a solitary backwoods “vision-quest” he meditates with stubborn desperation, but has a near fatal accident. He is helped unexpectedly by a hyper-intelligent interdimensional being who sparkles with irreverent humor. Later this otherworldly ally aids Bob and his old friend, Billy Hillerman, a PhD drop-out recluse, in solving a strange supernatural mystery which has haunted them since their youth. Back then a ghostly woman in an antiquated gown appeared to them in a coastal hamlet and tried to lure them into an old house. They escaped with a vague promise to return. Decades later they are able to step out of ordinary reality and find out who she and her ghostly friends are, and deeper truths about surprising connections beyond the grave.
