FriesenPress now 100% Employee Owned

Canada’s FriesenPress has become the world’s first and only employee-owned publishing services provider.

VICTORIA, BRITISH COLUMBIA – April 15, 2020 – In an industry first, FriesenPress is proud to announce that the company has become the world’s only 100% employee-owned publishing services provider.

“Since our founding more than 10 years ago, we’ve been directly invested in helping our authors find success with their books. That has never been truer than it is today,” said Tammara Kennelly, FriesenPress’s President. “Becoming 100% employee owned is the fully realized representation of what most sets us apart in the self-publishing industry. In an industry where offshoring work is becoming the norm, we are in fact re-investing in the talent and techniques that create the best results for self-publishing authors: our team in North America.”

FriesenPress’s move toward 100% employee ownership extends to the top of the organization, as FriesenPress employees are now employee-owners of their parent company, Friesens Corp., as well. Based in Altona, Manitoba and established in 1907, Friesens is an award-winning North American book manufacturer that prints approximately 23 million copies annually with the likes of Penguin Random House, Simon & Schuster, Scholastic, and many more.

“FriesenPress has proven itself time and time again to be a valuable member of the Friesens family,” said Chad Friesen, CEO of Friesens. “Bringing the FriesenPress team into the fold as employee-owners marks the culmination of its many years of growth into the customer-focused and values-driven industry leader they are today. We couldn’t be more thrilled.”

As FriesenPress celebrated in 2019 its five thousandth unique published title and its 10-year anniversary, 2020 is primed to be yet another year of growth for FriesenPress’s employees and their valued customers.
