Tammara spent fifteen years in banking and foreign exchange, before finding her true love in books five years ago. Her passion for leading and developing culture led her to complete her Executive MBA, with a major in leadership, at Royal Roads University. Her career spans from small local start-ups, to gigs with Fortune 500 companies, and has seen her do business as far away as Lithuania and log thousands of travel miles along the way.
She is an avid music lover (once seen on stage dancing the can-can with Spirit of the West), enjoys sipping a glass of Malbec while whipping up a new recipe in the kitchen, and can be found hiking the trails of Vancouver Island with her French Bulldog, Lucy. And while being home with her daughter is her first love, a desire for adventure and diversity incites the travel bug when time allows.

When Will is not in front of his computer he makes time for photography and can be found riding his Vespa around town. Will is happiest outside enjoying a great meal with his wife Jen.
Director of Operations
With over fifteen years of experience within the retail and financial sectors, Valarie is a diversely experienced customer and quality-focused business executive and people leader. Valarie’s role at FriesenPress is two-fold: As our Director of Operations, she oversees all things related to work flow, ensuring that our team always has what they need to do their best work; she also serves on the leadership team, lending her 'operations brain' to everything from process to author experience, with a special focus on organization and innovative solutions.
Always loving a new challenge, Valarie completed an Executive MBA with a specialization in Leadership, while juggling family, professional projects and business travel. When not at work you can find her on the rock wall with her husband, hiking one of the many trails on Vancouver Island with her two beautiful daughters, or with a paint brush in hand, turning a piece of furniture from shabby to chic.
As far back as Riley can remember, he has been drawn to storytelling. Whether it was long nights spent reading The Lord of the Rings as a child, or sharing his own tales of adventure from backpacking around the world, he has always found joy in the written word.
Working directly with authors on the production of their book as an Account Manager and then as Team Lead of Author Services, Riley gained valuable insight into the process of taking a manuscript through to publication. His current role leading the Sales Team allows him to be on the front lines, helping authors choose the right path to publication while mentoring and supporting a team of Publishing Consultants.
When Riley’s not at the office, he's most often found cycling around Victoria, attempting a new route at the local rock climbing gym, or volunteering as a first responder at community events.
