The FOLD

April 26 – May 3, 2026

The Festival of Literary Diversity celebrates Canadian and international authors every year at its flagship festival in April and May. The festival includes panels, discussions, workshops, and interactive events that allow guests from across Canada and around the world to participate. The festival has presented more than thirty events annually in a multi-modal format, beginning with a virtual festival and transitioning into in-person events later in the week.

 

 

Women in Publishing

Organizational Sponsor, 2025 & 2026

The Women in Publishing community provides encouragement, support, and resources for women who want to earn a living as a writer, small publisher, or others in the industry. They provide resources, tools, and mentorship for women who want to have their voices heard and stories told. The culmination of those efforts are in a free 5-day online conference that runs annually in the first week of March.

 

 

When Words Collide

When Words Collide is an annual festival held in Calgary, Alberta, every August. The festival was founded in 2010 and has since grown into a vibrant gathering for writers, readers, artists, and publishers of all genres. A celebration of all forms of storytelling, including genre fiction, young adult, children's literature, poetry, and more.

 

 

Toronto Word on the Street

The Word On The Street is a national celebration of reading, writing, and literacy that champions reading and writing in Canada through a free annual festival and year-round literary programming that celebrates storytelling, ideas, and imagination. Each year, they host hundreds of author readings for visitors of all ages and a vibrant marketplace featuring the best selection of books and magazines in Canada.

 

 

Toronto Indie Author Conference

September 18 – 21, 2026

The Toronto Indie Author Conference is a two-day event tailored exclusively for independent authors. Their mission is to empower Canadian indie authors with essential education and networking opportunities, eliminating the need to venture beyond our borders for specialized knowledge. A hub for inspiration, knowledge, and connections within the world of independent publishing.

 

 

Whistler Writers Festival

November 5 – November 8, 2026

Founded by Stella Harvey in 2002, the annual Whistler Writers Festival welcomes 1,800+ guests every year for a multi-venue, multi-artist, multi-day event, showcasing authors who are local, regional and from across Canada. The program includes a masterclass workshop series for new and emerging writer, reading events and panel discussions for the general public, and a Literary Cabaret combining music and readings.
